• Read all the rules!
• Respect your fellow roleplayers - please avoid bringing drama to the cbox because no one likes tension on a roleplay site.
• No one liners - try to write as much as you can but at the same time quality over quantity. Short posts can be just as effective as longer posts.
• Try to keep to posting to at least 100 words per post - if you occasionally don't quite reach that, then it's no big deal.
• Please obide by basic roleplaying etiquette such as; no godmoding/powerplay*, constant swearing, harrassing etc. common sense basically - if you don't want to be treated in a certain way, don't do it to someone else.
• If you want to do something major to another character such as kill or permanently wound - ask permission first.
• When roleplaying (in the case of canon characters especially) please try to keep in character as much as possible. For example - Albus Dumbledore would not (under normal circumstances) discriminate against a muggleborn.
• When chosing a play-by, check the list to make sure it hasn't already been taken. Having said that, if your character is a main canon whose play by is seen a lot in the movies then please use their actor unless you have a good reason not to e.g. Hannah Abbott's actress only has 2 or 3 photographs available. Having said that, for OCs, don't use play-bys like Daniel Radcliffe because he is going to be used for Harry Potter. Please don't use the same play-by as someone else unless you have their permission because the characters are identical twins or something similar.
• This board is PG-13 meaning don't write about things you wouldn't want your thirteen year old sibling/child reading. Swearing to a minimum, no explicit details of extreme violence or sex and no drug use.
• Keep to where your character should be posting. For example, no Death Eaters in the Order HQ and no Order members at Death Eater HQ. It's common sense. There may be an exception to this based on plot progression.
• Please do not post in character until your character has been accepted.
• Try and use accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar - it's amazing how much easier it is to read and understand. However, occasional slip ups are to be expected - don't forget you can use spell check to find any spelling mistakes you might have overlooked.
• Multiple characters are allowed but try not to take on more than you can handle. If you want to play more than one canon then that's fine just as long as you don't take several main characters as it isn't fair on others.
• Highlight the bottom half of the page and the password shall be revealed.
• For now you can only have one character each - second characters may be available once there are more members.
• No Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus. No one likes a character who is either completely perfect at anything and everything and is amazingly attractive as well. People like that don't really exist. Also, careful about a character's history - tragic childhoods where the parents died or abused the child is not that common and gets boring after the first five people use it. Remember - the whole roleplay board does not revolve around your character's feelings and actions so don't try to keep your character in the center of attention.
• Post in third person unless it is a journal or flashback of some sort. For example: Hannah watched as Susan summoned a bar of chocolate.
•Please have an avatar and a signature. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, a picture will suffice. If you want to snazz it up and have no software to do so in, Picnik is a good, free program to edit photos in and no downloads are necessary!
• If you are leaving for a long or relatively short time, please post in the designated absence area so people you have threads with aren't left wondering where you are. Also so group threads don't have to wait on someone for a long time when they aren't returning for another two weeks.
• Enjoy yourself and make friends!
*This is when a person controls someone else's character without their permission and takes the fun out of roleplaying.
